About Me
Thank you for visiting my website and getting to know me a bit better! My name is Amanda and I am the proud owner and pet sitter of Pawsh Pet Sitting! I have lived in Indiana all of my life and attended St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN. Upon graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Computer Science/Math, I moved to Indianapolis where I began my computer science career. After 7 years in that industry, I met my husband Scott who is also in Information Technology and we decided to open our first business. I had attended Animal Arts Academy in my spare time and obtained a pet grooming certification to groom my miniature schnauzer Maxwell at home. I ended up liking it so much, I worked at the grooming school part-time. In 2004 we decided to open Platinum Paws Pet Salon in Carmel, IN, where I ran the business and groomed my furry four legged clients including both cats and dogs. We have always loved animals and had 3 dogs of our own so it seemed only natural.
Several months into my business, everything was going perfectly with wonderful clients and a grooming waiting list...until my mother was diagnosed with cancer in one of her lymph nodes. That event changed my life! My husband and I made a decision to start a family and change our life direction. We sold Platinum Paws to a great couple in 2005 and I traded in my grooming career to be a stay at home mom to our son and daughter. We reside in Westfield, IN and currently have three dogs named Sasha (a sweet rescued Pit Bull Terrier), Bentley (a lovey Boston Terrier) and Bowser (a handsome Brindle rescued Boxer). We lost our beloved Maxwell (miniature schnauzer) in 2008 and Shady in 2009 (boxer) to cancer, but will forever love them in our hearts. They were our first children! My mother has also been in remission since 2005 from her cancer! Amen.
Now that our children are in school, I have decided to share my love of pets once again with the public as a loyal, trustworthy and caring pet sitter/groomer. I can't wait to get to know you and your extended pet family and hope you will consider me for your future pet sitting needs!
